How to shoot documentary, formal and bride
styled.
Assignment: Documentary, Formal and Bride
Styled
Cooperation of friends, family will be useful.
Shoot three separate situations using
each style:
Documentary;
Group, Kiss, Cake

Print nine color 5x7’s or 4x6’s
(use 5x7 album pages for
the 5x7’s)
2. Review
prints and choose enlargements. Start the digital portfolio.Film
users digitize images at point of process.

Who’s to use and how much do we spend?
Assignment;
The Detail Shots /White on white and
Black on black
Photograph
Whites, light pastel colors on a light colored or white back- ground.
Photograph Blacks, dark colors or patterns on a dark or black background. Use
thoughtfull arrangements to reuse later.
Print
six color 5x7’s or 4x6’s
3. Review
prints and choose enlargements. Class shoot, practice portraits, poses and candid’s.
Lighting.
Assignment;
Web sites, Albums, Deposits and Contracts
Find
at least three examples of Web sites, Albums and Photo contracts.
Bring
in examples if possible.
Photograph
portraits in different lighting situations use available and artificial light.
Print
five color and b&w 5x7’s or 4x6’s
4. Review
prints and choose enlargements. “The Toss”, how to stop action with the flash.
How to read the room for light, backgrounds and reflections. Bounce flash and
diffuse light.
Assignment;
Photograph wedding actions using flash or fast shutter speeds. Print four 5x7’s,
or 4x6’s.
Bring
all enlargements with album to class. Bring laptops and or cds of slide show
presentations.
5. Show
presentations and albums the personal style and professional persona. Professional
photographers’ suppliers, printers, associations and networks.
