SUPPLIES Camera
(film or digital, point and shoot or SLR), Flash light, note book, 4x6 album pages.
WEEK
1. What is “photographic style”, “voice”? The basic
camera functions.
Assignment:
Perspective & White balance
Photograph
the veteran’s memorial at Front and Center St.
Use
five (5) different angles (points of view) in 15 frames.
Print
color 4x6 of each frame.
2. Review
prints of memorial. Elements of composition,
how did they take THAT photo? Do I
like It.? Camera settings; manual, program, AT, TV, portrait, landscape, night,
exposure, white balance, ISO and flash.
Assignment:
Balance, Shape & Exposure
Photograph
letters of the alphabet. Use highlight, shadow, and mid-tones to create symmetrical
and organic shapes. Print 10 color or b&w 4x6.
3. Review
prints of alphabet. Manual setting, lenses, shutter speed, and special effects.
Assignment:
Line, Motion & Mood (atmosphere, ambiance)
Photograph
moving objects use panning and shutter speeds to create the mood. Print 10
color 4x6.
4. Review
prints. Equipment overview alternate light sources, studio lights, strobes,
power supplies, wired or wireless configurations. How to, read available light.
Tripods, timers, shutter release and bulb exposure. Night photography.
Assignment:
Alternate light sources and Experimentation
Photograph
night scenes. Use available stabilizing tools, flashlights, self-timers, and
second curtain flash. Print 10 color 4x6.

5. Review
